Express Entry Job Offer Points
A job offer letter can earn between 50 and 200 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System. The number of points you will receive depends on the type of job you were offered.
Express Entry Job Offer Letter
We often receive questions about what makes a job offer letter valid for Express Entry. Generally, a valid offer is for a job that is full-time and non-seasonal, for at least one year, in a skilled job listed as Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B on the National Occupation Classification list.
The job offer must be in writing and must outline the details of the job offered. The letter should include your pay, any deductions, your job duties, and the conditions of your employment (e.g. full-time, part-time, etc.)
In most cases, a valid job offer must be supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), which the employer would need to apply for through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
Express Entry without Job Offer
In most cases, you don’t need a job offer to be eligible for Express Entry. In general, these are the in which you would require a job offer:
If you apply for the Federal Skilled Trades Program; this program requires you to have a valid job offer for a total period of at least 1 year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority
OR
If you are eligible for either the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and do not have enough money to support yourself and your family in Canada.
