Many non-citizens come to Canada to visit, work, or study as temporary residents and later decide they want to gain permanent residency. Luckily, Canada offers a limited-time pathway for eligible temporary residents and their families to gain a permanent resident card.
The main criteria for eligibility include:
If you have work experience in Canada in an essential occupation or in the healthcare field
If you recently graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, such as an accredited university
However, there are six streams in the temporary to permanent residency pathway, each with different eligibility requirements and application limits.
