POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT
Many international students are eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit after completing their studies. The PGWP allows graduates to stay in Canada and gain Canadian work experience.
If you graduated from a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI), you may be eligible to apple for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.

Who is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit?
To obtain a post-graduation work permit, you provide proof that you:

Have completed an academic program at a DLI in Canada that is at least 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate.

Maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program or programs of study you have completed and submitted as part of their post-graduation work permit application.

Received a transcript and an official letter from the eligible DLI confirming that you met the requirements to complete your program of study.
How long will my Post-Graduation Work Permit be?
Post-graduation work permits are generally issued for the same length of time as the program you completed, up to three years in length.

3- or 4-year program → 3-year PGWP

2-year program → 2-year PGWP

8-month to 1-year program → 1-year PGWP
